The Uncrowned Vine

This is the key illustration for my personal IP, The Outlander (The Outlanders within the Sutured Sky).
In the old collection of the Summer Palace, there was a portrait of IVY before the crown.
She was painted in white. Tree-fruit hung in the shadow behind her. A current of gold moved around her body, and her hand rested on a long sword — not as a weapon yet, but as a power waiting to be named.

Some called it temptation.
Others said it was only a portrait before the coronation.

But what was that moving gold?
A guardian,
a cage,
or the first thing waiting for her command?
