Eastern Flowers — Spring Procession

A new personal piece from my Eastern Flowers series.

For this series, I have been deliberately studying and experimenting with the brush language of Eastern ink painting — trying to bring its rhythm, breath, looseness, and flowing energy into a fantasy illustration.

At the same time, I am using a very different visual direction for my other project“异邦人”, where I lean more toward Western classical texture, weight, light, and materiality.

Moving between these two directions has been extremely challenging. They require different ways of thinking, different kinds of edges, different surfaces, and even different emotional tempos. The process has been difficult, but also genuinely joyful.

I hope this piece carries some of that feeling: flowers, wind, gods, music, and spring arriving like a procession.
